Division Q 

 

Introduction:

Filcom International Toastmasters Club  was chartered in March 2002. It now resides under Area 12, Division Q, District 20, club no. 7847.

 

The club offers a friendly and positive environment for those who want to grow and enhance their Communication and Leadership skills. Our members come from different backgrounds and cultures. We encourage, support, and celebrate those differences to reach better results.

 

The strength of the club, at its core, is the passion of our members. New members feel inspired and motivated from the moment they join our club.

 

We welcome you all to be part of our big family and to start this exciting journey!

 

 

Achievements:

• Filcom International conducted two speech-craft programs for two professional associations, namely the PICQS (Philippine Institute of Quantity Surveyors) and the NDTAA (a Sri Lankan alumni association in Qatar). The latter subsequently chartered their own Toastmasters Club.

• The Club further held demonstration meetings for the PSME-Q (Philippine Society of Mechanical engineers-Qatar), the PICE-Qatar (Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers-Qatar),  the Stafford School of Qatar, and the Sri Lankan Chartered Accountants Association -Qatar. The first three groups eventually chartered their respective clubs, while the last group is in the process of chartering a new club.

• The club welcomed into its fold 10 new members and is continuing to attract members from the community.

• Filcom earned the Distinguished Club award, while its members received recognition from the Division/District for their contributions to Toastmasters:  TM Gil Bangalan earned a Leadership Excellence Award, the Triple Crown Award,  and the Toastmasters of the Year award. TM Philip Cherian and TM Jon Holland were given the Achiever Awards.

 

Future Goals:

We see a bright future for the Club. We shall continue to achieve recognition as a President Distinguished Club. We shall spread the message of Toastmasters and sponsor individuals and groups who desire to join us in the journey to become effective communicators and great leaders.
